The internet is a really useful way to research the type of pet you would like and now it is being used more and more often to purchase pets. Although the internet makes this a very convenient process, it’s not without its pitfalls. For this reason I have included a list below of tips that you should follow when entering into such a purchase.

Ring the seller. Find out what accredited organisation they are a member of, then follow this up by ringing the organisation to confirm that they are in fact a member. If you are looking to purchase a pure bread then, ensure that the breeder is accredited with the relevant breed association.

If the breeder has the relevant licenses and accreditations, take a visit to their premises which will allow you to inspect the living conditions of the animals.

Lastly be aware of people trying to scam you. Never purchase an animal from outside of the UK and never put any money into a foreign bank account.

When looking to buy a pet online make sure to so your research, as it will be worth it in the end.
